Home Inventory Intelligence
Applying industrial supply-chain logistics to domestic pantries via non-invasive weight sensors and receipt-parsing AI.
Observation & Context
The average modern household manages more SKUs than a small 1950s convenience store, yet uses zero inventory management systems beyond "looking in the pantry" before shopping trips. This leads to high cognitive load, redundant purchases, and food waste.
Generative Research
We interviewed 12 households. 100% reported "double-buying" or "running out" of critical staples (milk, eggs, toilet paper) monthly. The stress of remembering household inventory is a primary friction point in daily meal planning and domestic logistics.
The Architecture
Instead of expensive and gimmicky "smart refrigerators" that require manual logging, we propose weight-sensitive rubberized shelf mats combined with receipt-scraping email integrations. The infrastructure is passive, headless, and runs in the background.
